Mid-level Java Backend Engineer (Remote - Colombia/Costa Rica)

About the role

Gorilla Logic is seeking a passionate mid‑level backend Software Engineer to design, build, and release high‑quality Java solutions. The role is fully remote and open to candidates located in Colombia or Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend systems, APIs and data integration services using Java, Spring Boot and micro‑services architecture.
• Implement inter‑service communication with Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Write clean, testable, efficient, and well‑documented code.
• Integrate disparate components into a functional software system and ensure non‑functional requirements such as security and performance are met.
• Translate architectural diagrams into backend implementations and develop secure RESTful services.
• Participate in the full software lifecycle from design through deployment, following Agile practices.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience building backend APIs and data integration systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with AWS, Git, and working with multi‑site or offshore teams.
• Familiarity with Agile development concepts and processes.
• Ability to collaborate, prioritize tasks and adapt to changing requirements.
