Mechatronics Engineer – Product Development & Testing

About the role

Videndum is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to design and develop new products and automated testing systems for its Production Imaging brands. The role works within a project team, supporting product management, research, and value‑engineering activities while operating in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse customer requirements to define novel product functionalities.
• Design and implement automated systems that verify product designs and prototypes.
• Perform theoretical analysis and mathematical modelling to support concept development and design verification.
• Lead Mechanical Engineering Testing Lab activities, coordinating tests, calibrations, and equipment maintenance for NPI and value‑engineering projects.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies for integration into Videndum products.
• Develop testing methodologies to assess mechanical, electrical, and physical properties of components and complete systems.
• Design and document experiments, applying statistical and probabilistic tools for measurement validation.
• Apply reliability engineering concepts to create endurance and validation tests.
• Plan and execute projects against defined milestones, cost targets, and quality standards.
• Support cross‑functional initiatives in IT, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality for automation, control systems, and data acquisition.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechatronics or mechanical engineering with experience in product development and testing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting, interfacing with product management and cross‑functional teams.
• Proven capability to translate customer needs into technical specifications and automated validation solutions.
• Experience in managing testing lab resources, calibrations, and equipment maintenance.
