Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the development of commercial vehicle systems by creating and managing mechanical designs, CAD models, drawings, and related engineering data. This role involves collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver compliant, cost‑effective, production‑ready solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate task scope of work.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials and their representative 3D assemblies.
• Manage product data.
• Create 3D parts and 2D drawings to meet supplier and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers and customers on designs.
• Conduct concept and design reviews.
• Operate CAD software packages and PLM systems.
• Support day‑to‑day activities of customers.
• Provide creative, technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements.
• Interface with materials, purchasing, analysis, test, manufacturing, and compliance teams to ensure effective and economical designs.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD.
• Willingness to travel overseas (USA) for variable periods.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
