Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Triz Engineering Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team in San Jose, Costa Rica. The role involves developing and managing mechanical designs for commercial vehicle projects, collaborating with global suppliers and internal engineering groups.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate task scope and prepare detailed bills of materials and 3‑D assemblies.
• Create 3‑D parts and 2‑D drawings that meet supplier and regulatory requirements.
• Manage product data and maintain documentation within PLM systems.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers and customers on design issues.
• Conduct concept and design reviews and support day‑to‑day customer activities.
• Provide cost‑saving, service, and product improvement solutions.
• Interface with materials, purchasing, analysis, test, manufacturing, and compliance teams to ensure effective and economical designs.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BTech).
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• High emotional intelligence, self‑starter attitude and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, complex environment.
• Willingness to travel overseas (USA) for variable periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3‑D CAD software.
• Experience using PLM/product data management systems.
• Ability to generate bills of materials and technical drawings.
• Effective communication with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
