Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical & HDR Products

About the role

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (MEG) to support the design, development, and implementation of tools and processes for its HDR product line. The role is 100% onsite in the Z Free Zone, Montecillos de Alajuela, with a Monday‑to‑Friday shift from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Scope, concept, design, and implement mechanical solutions for internal customers.
• Create SolidWorks models that accurately represent tool and assembly intent.
• Monitor project costs, ensure budget compliance, and develop test plans with measurable success criteria.
• Use statistical analysis to evaluate tool and process effectiveness.
• Support manufacturing quality through tool design updates and preventive‑maintenance scheduling.
• Maintain internal systems for tooling setup, manage project timelines, and communicate progress to global teams.
• Ensure designs meet OSHA, ANSI, and Samtec safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and manage projects.
