Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Joby is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to create and maintain technical manufacturing documentation that supports our vertical‑takeoff air‑taxi program. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure processes are clearly defined, efficient, and aligned with engineering requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, write, maintain and review detailed Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) for test panels, first‑article inspections, and engineering change requests.
• Create and review Redlines, support CPD modeling, and act as a manufacturing reviewer for modeling releases.
• Author and update test plans and reports to meet company specifications.
• Support the creation and revision of standard operating procedures to improve production efficiency.
• Provide CAD scope of work, from drawings to model change actions.
• Collaborate with design, tooling, manufacturing, quality, material & process, and other engineering departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Maintenance or a related engineering field.
• 1+ years experience as a manufacturing, process or CAD engineer.
• Experience writing technical manufacturing documents, especially MWIs.
• Familiarity with quality control standards and experience in aerospace, automotive or medical industries.
