Junior Software Engineer – Apps, Test Infrastructure & Automation

About the role

This junior software engineer position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining software tools, frameworks, and automation that support ASIC/SDK and post‑silicon engineering lifecycles. You will work onsite at an HPE office, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve productivity and test infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain traffic generation frameworks, hardware reservation tools, regression dashboards, and lab automation services.
• Execute test plans, debug issues across switch, simulation, and emulation platforms, and log findings.
• Collaborate with internal partner teams (SDK, Post‑Silicon, ASIC, Mechanical Engineering, Hardware) on tool design and development.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and PR‑check/regression workflows integrated with source control and hardware reservation systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Python programming (and related scripting/automation languages).
• Exposure to C; Rust is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling: CI/CD, Git/GitHub, containers, Linux.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (L2/L3, packet flows) and ASIC/SDK or post‑silicon test environments.
