IT Officer – Hybrid (San José, Costa Rica)

About the role

The IT Officer will provide day‑to‑day technical support to the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Latin America, based in San José. Working closely with the headquarters IT team and programme staff, you will ensure that all hardware, software and communication tools operate smoothly in a hybrid office environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and back up computers, software and office equipment.
• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of IT assets, licences and service contracts.
• Assist the Procurement Officer with IT‑related purchases and liaise with local vendors.
• Train staff on secure and effective use of digital tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in end‑user support.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (minimum B2 level).
• Legal right to work in Costa Rica.
