Head of Operations Development

About the role

The Head of Operations Development will lead the Operations Development, Maintenance Engineering, Technology Improvement, Tool Shop, IT/OT and Transfer/Ramp‑Up functions at our Cartago site. Reporting to the VP/General Manager, you will ensure equipment availability, drive technical support for production, and implement corporate IT policies across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a robust maintenance strategy to maximise production equipment availability.
• Oversee documentation, refurbishment and technical support for all equipment and processes.
• Lead the Tool Shop, ensuring it has the resources and expertise for equipment repairs and tooling production.
• Manage IT/OT integration, maintain related processes and ensure compliance with corporate IT policies.
• Coordinate site transfers, drive transfer excellence and lead related projects.
• Represent Operations Development in corporate forums and contribute to performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop departmental competencies, document key processes and implement quality‑system requirements.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in industrial operations, maintenance engineering or similar fields.
• Strong track record of managing cross‑functional teams and large‑scale projects.
• Excellent understanding of safety, fire‑safety and corporate regulations.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
