GL Analyst I – General Ledger Accounting

About the role

The General Ledger Analyst I will support Experian’s finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring the integrity of ledger data in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. Working closely with senior accountants and finance leadership, the analyst will contribute to month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Post and review journal entries for accruals, pre‑payments and recurring transactions.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation.
• Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate on ad‑hoc projects such as contract review, master‑data validation and data updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Record‑to‑Report or a shared‑services accounting environment.
• Advanced level of English.
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle or SAP ERP platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and basic data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI or similar data‑visualisation tools.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
