EHS Engineer II – Safety & Environment Lead

About the role

CooperSurgical is seeking an experienced EHS Engineer II to develop and lead environmental, health, and safety programs across its operations. The role focuses on fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and protecting employees through proactive risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement EHS strategies that align with corporate safety objectives and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver training programs on safety, ergonomics, and emergency response.
• Manage incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action tracking.
• Oversee waste‑management, recycling initiatives, and hazardous‑material handling.
• Review and maintain work‑permit authorizations, non‑conformity reports, and EHS documentation.
• Coordinate emergency‑brigade activities and lead response planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of EHS experience within the medical‑device industry.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of local and international EHS regulations.
• Experience conducting safety audits and incident investigations.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training and ergonomics programs.
• Proficiency in managing waste‑management and recycling programs.
