Director of Program Management

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead strategic, cross‑functional initiatives that advance our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will partner with senior executives to translate strategy into execution, overseeing complex portfolios that drive growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce project governance frameworks across multiple divisions.
• Lead large‑scale transformation and change‑management programs.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation for strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align programs with corporate objectives.
• Redesign operating models to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (or Bachelor’s with 12+ years) and 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience in complex organizations.
• Proven success delivering large‑scale transformation initiatives in a consultative environment.
• Strong financial acumen, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Experience in regulated life‑science or healthcare settings is preferred.

Required skills

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt minimum; Black Belt ideal).
• Proficiency with project management software.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
