Development Designer – Renewables

About the role

Ulteig is looking for a Development Designer specialized in renewables to lead site design, grading, and layout development for utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage projects. You will work at the front end of projects, shaping site concepts that guide feasibility and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop site layouts, grading plans, and early‑phase design packages using AutoCAD Civil 3D and PVFarm.
• Evaluate site constraints, grading strategies, and layout options to support project feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine designs from concept through early development deliverables.
• Perform grading design, earthwork calculations, and site design for large‑scale projects.
• Identify design challenges early and propose practical, buildable solutions.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Communicate with clients to refine layouts and support development decisions.

Required profile

• Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in civil design, site development, or utility‑scale renewable projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Authorization to work legally in Costa Rica.
