Database Administrator

About the role

QAT Global is looking for a skilled Database Administrator to support its US‑based customers and collaborate with development teams across the United States, Costa Rica, and Brazil. This fully remote position offers the chance to manage critical database environments while working with a diverse, international team.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing, and schema design.
• Manage backups, restores, disaster recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
• Implement security controls and access management.
• Collaborate with development teams on database schema and migrations.
• Troubleshoot performance and system issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and documentation for configurations and processes.
• Support database upgrades, patching, and migration projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and relational database design.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills in English.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Engineering or equivalent.
