Cloud Architect – Azure Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead Azure‑focused cloud initiatives for our remote team in Costa Rica. The role involves guiding application teams, designing scalable solutions, and driving cloud transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cloud architecture consulting and technical leadership for Azure solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews and deliver recommendations aligned with best practices.
• Create architecture artifacts and document cloud deployment designs.
• Support application teams with risk assessments and cloud service evaluations.
• Resolve complex cloud engineering issues and develop business‑driven solutions.
• Perform proof‑of‑concepts for emerging cloud technologies.
• Drive Azure cost‑optimization initiatives and enhance customer value.
• Design Azure infrastructure components such as VNETs, VPN, ExpressRoute, VM migrations, and Azure Site Recovery.
• Develop migration roadmaps and future‑state (To‑Be) architecture designs.
• Analyze current infrastructure landscapes and recommend technology improvements.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure architecture experience.
• Proven expertise in Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Experience designing migration and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Strong knowledge of JSON templates, Visual Studio, and PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with Linux, Chef, and Puppet is a plus.
• Solid Azure Windows Server administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and Intune.
• Ability to create technical roadmaps and translate business requirements into cloud solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) and Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305).
