Certification Analyst – Americas Region

About the role

FLOCERT is seeking a structured, business‑oriented Certification Analyst to join its Americas team in San José, Costa Rica. You will coordinate and administer Fairtrade certification processes for customers across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, ensuring compliance with ISO 17065‑accredited standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a defined portfolio of Fairtrade customers, evaluating companies and products against applicable standards and internal procedures.
• Review audit reports and make certification decisions in line with ISO 17065 requirements.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct Fairtrade audits, including annual audit planning and follow‑up of corrective actions.
• Maintain consistency, quality and timeliness of certification processes within the assigned scope.
• Communicate proactively with applicants, certified customers and auditors, providing guidance on certification requirements.
• Identify compliance risks, manage non‑conformities and ensure appropriate follow‑up actions.
• Act as account manager for key accounts while safeguarding impartiality and conflict‑of‑interest requirements.
• Process Labelling Initiative requests and handle complex or special certification cases.

Required profile

• Strong analytical capability and solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, especially ISO 17065.
• Professional judgement and ability to make independent certification decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with auditors, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel within and outside Costa Rica as required.
• Business‑oriented mindset with attention to detail and structured work approach.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 17065 certification standards.
