Buyer – Tactical Purchasing in Supply Chain

About the role

Join Stryker's Supply Chain team as a Buyer, responsible for tactical purchasing to ensure material availability for production and customer demand in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tactical purchasing activities for an assigned supplier portfolio to maintain material availability and support service objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers to understand capacity constraints and align supply capabilities with business requirements.
• Develop and execute supply plans that support production schedules, inventory targets, and launch plans.
• Monitor and communicate KPIs such as inventory levels, receipts, purchase price variance, and supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate system data including lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock, and delivery schedules.
• Expedite or adjust purchase orders to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock.
• Escalate supply constraints and drive resolution plans with internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Sourcing teams on continuous improvement and on‑time‑in‑full delivery targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Materials Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, or materials management within high‑volume manufacturing.
• Minimum B2 level English proficiency.
• Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
• Preferred APICS or related supply chain certification, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, and experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
