Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Videndum is seeking a proactive Buyer to support its manufacturing operations in Cartago, Costa Rica. The role focuses on sourcing, negotiating and purchasing raw materials, components and services to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality supply for production.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers for raw materials, components and services.
• Issue and manage purchase orders in line with production plans and inventory levels.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost and on‑time delivery.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality and Logistics to guarantee material availability.
• Resolve delays, shortages or quality issues with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and update ERP/MRP systems.
• Support new product introductions, project transfers and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Videndum’s procurement policies and assist in supplier audits.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good understanding of supply‑chain processes and inventory management.
• Effective communication skills in English.
