Buyer I – Category Procurement

About the role

The Buyer I – Category Procurement supports procurement activities across multiple manufacturing locations, ensuring supply continuity, inventory availability and execution of category strategies. Working closely with planning, operations and supplier teams, the role contributes to sourcing, purchasing and supplier performance management for assigned commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Review MRP and related tool recommendations and execute procurement actions to meet production schedules and inventory targets.
• Partner with planning teams to coordinate material availability and secure supplier commitments.
• Create, process and manage purchase orders, requisitions and other procurement transactions in line with company policies.
• Support supplier communications, RFQ processes and performance monitoring.
• Conduct procurement analysis and assist with sourcing initiatives for assigned categories.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders including Category Management, Engineering, Quality and Accounts Payable.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Knowledge of category markets, supplier capabilities and procurement processes.
• Ability to work with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve purchasing, delivery and quality issues.
• Analytical mindset for supporting sourcing and inventory management activities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage purchase orders and supplier performance data.

Required skills

• Experience with MRP systems.
