Buyer II – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer II is responsible for executing procurement activities and managing supplier relationships for assigned commodities supporting manufacturing operations. This role ensures continuity of supply, inventory optimization, and cost competitiveness across one or more locations.

Key responsibilities

• Review MRP recommendations and create, maintain, and manage purchase orders, supplier schedules, and procurement transactions in line with production schedules.
• Coordinate supplier shipments, logistics, and material flow while identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
• Partner with Planning and Operations to maintain safety stock levels, lead‑time data, and material availability.
• Develop and monitor supplier performance, conduct business meetings, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support strategic sourcing activities, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferred certifications such as APICS, ISM, CPSM, CPIM, or similar.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
