AtR Senior Analyst - Costa Rica

About the role

Merck & Co., Inc. (MSD) is hiring an AtR Senior Analyst in San Jose, Costa Rica. The role supports month-end close activities, account analysis and reconciliations, journal entry preparation and review, audit support and process improvement. It works closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure strong financial process execution, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Support month-end closing, including account reviews, reconciliations and analysis
• Prepare and review journal entries accurately and on time
• Support internal and external audits, control self-assessments and SOX compliance
• Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Maintain accurate current-state documentation of AtR processes and control documentation
• Monitor and support compliance with key performance indicators and month-end close controls
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities
• Take part in accounting to report local and global projects
• Act as liaison for technology, policy and process changes in local markets
• Support process training and training content development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; candidates pursuing an accounting degree may be considered depending on experience
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus
• Experience in a general ledger accounting role within a multinational company
• Experience with U.S. GAAP; pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus
• Strong oral and written English and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently, adapt to a fast-paced environment and build partnerships across Finance

• Power BI and Blackline experience preferred
• Account reconciliations, financial accounting controls, financial reporting and quantitative analytics
