Associate Estimator – Preconstruction

About the role

Power Design is seeking an ambitious Associate Estimator to support its Preconstruction team. In this position you will help generate accurate electrical estimates for multifamily and commercial projects, ensuring timely and competitive bids within the Change Order department.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a regionally‑aligned estimating team, providing leadership, direction and training.
• Research market data to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing.
• Perform lighting, mechanical equipment, terminal device, and plumbing fixture counts by reviewing construction plans and blueprints.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to define project scope, address deficiencies, and negotiate pricing.
• Partner with construction teams to transition awarded projects smoothly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred, or 3‑4 years of electrical field experience.
• 1+ years of relevant electrical estimating experience.
• Motivated problem‑solver with strong customer‑service focus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills; organized, detail‑oriented and efficient.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Valid U.S. visa and ability to travel internationally as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software, preferably Accubid.
• Electrical estimating knowledge.
