About the role

The Preschool Assistant supports the lead teacher in delivering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. This role helps children develop academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring daily routines run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and executing learning activities.
• Support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage active participation and autonomy among the children.
• Prepare teaching materials and classroom resources.
• Supervise small groups or individual students as needed.
• Implement differentiated strategies to meet individual needs.
• Maintain constant safety and supervision throughout the school day.
• Help children with daily routines such as meals, hygiene, rest, and transitions.
• Promote respectful, caring, and independent behavior.
• Observe and promptly report any physical or emotional wellbeing concerns.
• Keep the classroom organized, clean, and ready for activities.
• Assist with decorating and setting up educational spaces.
• Manage classroom materials, resources, and equipment.
• Strictly follow institutional child‑protection policies.
• Report any safety or wellbeing issues immediately according to established protocols.
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
