Storage NPI Program Management Intern

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Storage NPI Program Management Intern in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role is designed as onsite, with the expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. It suits students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in any field, offering hands-on experience in program support, project coordination and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Support NPI planning and execution for hardware and firmware components used in enterprise storage platforms.
• Track schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks and action items across component development programs.
• Coordinate activities between Hardware Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Product Management teams.
• Participate in program reviews and cross-functional meetings, documenting decisions, action items and status updates.
• Maintain project schedules, status trackers, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Support component readiness for PCBAs, firmware releases and platform integration milestones, and track engineering change requests and qualification activities.
• Maintain technical documentation such as specifications, qualification reports and design documentation.
• Support lifecycle management, including component availability tracking, change management and end-of-life planning.
• Assist with roadmap planning and identify automation and AI-enabled workflow improvements.
• Take part in a project applying AI tools to improve program execution, reporting, documentation or workflow efficiency.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams, program managers and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
• University students actively enrolled, typically working during school breaks; part-time options may exist during the school year in some countries.
• Preferred: coursework in computer engineering, hardware design, embedded systems, networking, firmware, computer architecture or storage technologies, and exposure to hardware, software or systems engineering lifecycles.

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and project tracking tools.
• Preferred: familiarity with hardware, firmware, computer architecture, networking or embedded systems concepts.
• Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL or similar tools.
• Preferred: interest in AI, automation, data analytics or process improvement.
