Sr. Data Engineer

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a senior data engineer to join the Shockwave Medical team in Costa Rica. You will work on modern data‑stack technologies to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that feed our Snowflake data warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and launch sophisticated Snowflake data models supporting multiple product domains.
• Own and optimise production data pipelines using Fivetran, Python, dbt/Coalesce and query techniques.
• Document pipelines and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and observability (e.g., Monte Carlo).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data availability.
• Create dashboards and advanced visualisations in Power BI.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proven track record designing and building production‑grade data pipelines.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex integration problems.
