SOC Analyst III – Cybersecurity Operations

About the role

World Fuel is looking for an experienced SOC Analyst III to join its global Cybersecurity Operations team in San José, Costa Rica. The role blends threat detection, incident response, security engineering, vulnerability management, and automation in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts across enterprise, cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
• Conduct threat hunting, digital forensics, root‑cause analysis, and incident response activities.
• Analyze logs, endpoint activity, and network traffic to identify malicious behavior.
• Lead implementation, optimization, and operationalization of security tools aligned with NIST and PCI frameworks.
• Manage vulnerability management programs and coordinate remediation with infrastructure and application teams.
• Enhance monitoring capabilities, develop detection rules, correlation logic, dashboards, automation workflows, and playbooks.
• Monitor threat intelligence sources and emerging cyber threats.
• Lead security projects involving tool deployment, platform enhancements, and automation.
• Perform packet and log analysis, coordinate forensic investigations with third‑party partners, and maintain technical documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance during complex investigations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior SOC analyst or equivalent cybersecurity professional.
• Strong understanding of security operations across cloud, endpoint, network, and data protection platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and drive security initiatives.
• Experience with industry frameworks such as NIST and PCI.
