SOC Analyst III – Cybersecurity Operations

About the role

World Fuel is looking for an experienced SOC Analyst III to join its global Cybersecurity Operations team in San José, Costa Rica. The senior analyst will protect the company’s technology environment by monitoring security events, investigating threats, and leading remediation across cloud, endpoint, network and data protection platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents across enterprise systems, networks, cloud environments and security platforms.
• Perform threat hunting, digital forensics, root‑cause analysis and incident response activities.
• Analyze logs, endpoint activity and network traffic to detect suspicious behavior.
• Lead implementation, optimization and operationalization of security tools in line with NIST and PCI frameworks.
• Manage vulnerability management programs and coordinate remediation with infrastructure and application teams.
• Develop and tune detection rules, correlation logic, dashboards, automation workflows and playbooks.
• Stay current with threat intelligence, security advisories and emerging cyber threats.
• Lead security projects such as tool deployments, platform enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and incident response procedures.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance during complex investigations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior SOC analyst or equivalent role in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong background in threat detection, incident response, security engineering and vulnerability management.
• Ability to work with modern security technologies across cloud, endpoint, network and data protection platforms.
• Experience aligning security initiatives with industry frameworks such as NIST and PCI.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
