Site Reliability Engineer II

About the role

Join Akamai’s Site Reliability Team to design, develop, and manage the infrastructure behind our Compute products. You will work across multiple teams to automate processes, improve system reliability, and support large‑scale AI compute workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and technical support to fellow engineers.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts for deployment, incident response, and system reliability.
• Enhance monitoring solutions to accelerate error detection and remediation.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, leading the restoration of service‑impacting incidents.
• Write tooling that reduces operational toil and improves deployment safety.
• Contribute to capacity planning, autoscaling configuration, and workload scheduling for AI compute infrastructure.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Background in Linux/Unix system administration, DevOps, or SRE on large‑scale distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Golang.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, SaltStack, Ansible).
• Ability to define SLOs and work with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing.
