Senior Threat Hunter

About the role

Zscaler is seeking a Senior Threat Hunter to join its remote Threat Hunting team in Costa Rica. The position is customer‑facing, delivering high‑quality threat‑hunting deliverables and advising clients on security risks.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively hunt, detect, and defend against threats for managed customers using deep expertise in threat hunting, incident response, and security operations.
• Serve as a trusted security advisor by preparing tailored findings, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for stakeholders ranging from SOC analysts to CISOs.
• Analyze web proxy telemetry against modern adversary TTPs using SIEM‑like tools and custom code to create high‑fidelity detection logic.
• Review detection engineering outputs and peer analyst work to continuously improve customer‑facing deliverables.

Required profile

• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and building solutions from limited data.
• Strong communication skills to interact directly with customers and present technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to work standard business hours with occasional on‑call duties.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or ElasticSearch.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for scripting and detection logic development.
• Deep knowledge of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and web proxy telemetry analysis.
