Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Progress is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join its hybrid team in Belen, Costa Rica. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of customer‑facing systems while bridging development and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure cloud services on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Automate routine tasks, manage backups and configure high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Implement observability, monitoring and performance‑optimization tools.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, troubleshoot incidents and lead post‑mortem analyses.
• Collaborate with developers, QA and support teams in an agile environment.
• Handle complex customer provisioning in coordination with Sales and Professional Services.
• Champion Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices using Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior SRE or in a comparable production role.
• Strong background in Windows and Linux administration.
• Hands‑on experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and Rancher.
• Familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks (PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, SOC2).
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.

• Shell, Python and PowerShell scripting.
• Azure, AWS, GCP services (ECS, EKS, S3, etc.).
• Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher.
• Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation.
