Senior R&D Technician

About the role

The Senior R&D Technician will support process development and innovation for medical device manufacturing. Acting as a bridge between engineering and production, the role ensures efficient, well‑documented processes that meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate processes, tooling, and equipment for new product introductions.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced equipment during process development.
• Execute complex product builds across feasibility, characterization, and validation phases.
• Collect, analyze, and report process data to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to design fixtures, tooling, and process improvements.
• Mentor junior technicians and operators on best practices.
• Serve as primary technical contact for pilot production and early‑stage product transfers.
• Participate in cross‑functional reviews and contribute technical input to project documentation.
• Apply lean and Six Sigma principles to streamline processes and enhance quality.
• Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices, safety standards, and company policies.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Technical Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing, process development, or R&D.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and validation protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Effective communication and collaboration across multiple functions.
