Calibration Technician

About the role

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Calibration Technician to support its facilities team in La Lima, Cartago. The role ensures that all equipment used in the production of medical devices remains accurately calibrated and compliant with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain all calibration documentation in the Asset Management System, reviewing calibration, preventive maintenance (PM) and first‑article inspection (FAI) reports.
• Register new equipment, keep metrology records up‑to‑date, and verify that inducted instruments meet quality requirements, escalating any discrepancies.
• Generate routine compliance reports and perform other incidental duties as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma plus a technical degree in metrology, electrical, mechanical or electronics fields.
• Knowledge of temperature, pressure, weighing, volume and environmental condition measurements.
• Availability to work Shift B (Monday‑Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) on site in La Lima, Cartago.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using an Asset Management System or similar calibration software.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in a medical‑device environment.
