Senior Operations Specialist

About the role

OOCL is expanding its new location in Escazu, Costa Rica and seeks a Senior Operations Specialist to support container shipping operations. The role is on‑site, Monday to Friday, and involves ensuring accurate shipment data and smooth vessel handling.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile shipment information between terminal and corporate systems to create accurate load lists and submit them via email or EDI before vessel cut‑off.
• Perform vessel clean‑up after sailing and communicate updates promptly.
• Handle urgent or special vessel‑related cases to improve customer satisfaction.
• Monitor functional mailboxes for E‑bill user setup, rail billing exceptions, export back‑off, and customs holds, resolving issues through email, chat, or phone.
• Provide backup support to the Operations Manager and coordinate with NAG teams for emergency handling.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational problems.
• 2–3 years experience in the containerized shipping industry is preferred.
