Senior Internal Controls & Process Analyst

About the role

Workday is seeking a Senior Internal Controls & Process Analyst to lead SOX compliance and strengthen internal control frameworks across its finance organization. You will partner with process owners, IT teams, and senior management to ensure accurate financial reporting and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure SOX compliance in a complex, dynamic business environment.
• Coordinate updates to financial reporting documentation such as Risk and Control Matrix, Process Flowcharts, SOX Calendar, and System Scoping.
• Assess and document SOX scoping considerations and act as a subject‑matter expert on financial reporting risks.
• Collaborate with process owners to analyze, evaluate, and improve business and IT processes and internal controls.
• Work with the SOX team on control considerations and develop project timelines, risk assessments, and ad‑hoc assessments.
• Document process flows and relevant controls, and advise on efficient internal controls for new Workday functionality.
• Prepare written and verbal communications to convey findings and recommendations.
• Demonstrate strong project‑management skills and use technology/tools to enhance the integrated control environment.
• Investigate and resolve auditor and process‑owner queries.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with SOX compliance and internal controls in a finance setting.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and process owners.
• Strong project‑management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to assess risk and develop effective control solutions.
