Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Backend & Data Focus

About the role

Homera Health is seeking a senior full‑stack engineer whose primary focus is backend and data engineering. You will own the data pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure that power the telemedicine platform while collaborating across product, growth, and operations to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines—including ingestion, transformation, storage, and reliability.
• Model and structure data to support product features, internal tools, analytics, and experimentation.
• Own schema design, query optimization, indexing, and scaling for both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Manage deployments and infrastructure on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Contribute to system design decisions as the platform scales, focusing on services, data flow, and reliability.
• Review and occasionally contribute to front‑end code in React.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross‑functional teams to turn data into business outcomes.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Improve logging, monitoring, and overall data reliability across systems.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience with proven ownership of production systems.
• Strong communication skills and an ownership mindset.
• Experience integrating AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot into daily workflow.

Required skills

• Node.js (primary) and Express.
• RESTful API and GraphQL development.
• SQL and relational databases – PostgreSQL preferred.
• NoSQL databases – MongoDB.
• Data pipeline and ETL workflow design.
• AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).
• CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
• Working‑level proficiency with React.
