Senior Cloud Engineer – Industrial Automation Integration

About the role

Coforge is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the integration of industrial automation tools such as PLC, HMI and SCADA into its cloud platform. You will work remotely from Costa Rica, collaborating with product, engineering and customer‑facing teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end integrations for new and existing PLC, HMI, and SCADA vendors, from reverse engineering to production rollout.
• Build adapters and services in Go and TypeScript that connect vendor toolchains to platform source‑control systems.
• Work with vendor SDKs, command‑line tools, GSD files and other artifacts to extract and manipulate project data programmatically.
• Stand up, maintain and troubleshoot Windows virtual machines, vendor software installations and licensing configurations for development and testing.
• Define repeatable processes for VM creation, snapshotting and distribution to ensure reproducible vendor environments.
• Develop user‑facing web and desktop features that enable diff, merge and review experiences for visual programming languages.
• Make architectural decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability of vendor integrations.
• Document integration logic, vendor‑specific behaviours, licensing constraints and operational procedures.
• Support customers during onboarding and troubleshoot edge‑case integration issues in real‑world industrial settings.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience following best practices (code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially with ambiguous or poorly documented systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Direct exposure to PLCs, HMIs or SCADA systems through work, education or personal projects (mandatory).
