Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will own the end‑to‑end accounting lifecycle for FOAA Digital, combining day‑to‑day accounting execution with the coordination of new financial system launches. This role ensures month‑end controllership integrity while acting as the accounting subject‑matter expert during business and technology implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close activities, including sub‑ledger closing, general‑ledger reconciliations, balance‑sheet analysis and financial reporting.
• Prepare month‑over‑month variance analysis for P&L and balance‑sheet accounts and communicate drivers to stakeholders.
• Lead accounting validation workstreams for new business and system launches, coordinating UAT, executing test cases, documenting results and resolving discrepancies.
• Review and validate accounting records, chart‑of‑accounts configurations and journal entry flows prior to production launch.
• Apply accounting principles, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and controllership standards to identify risks and implement remediation.
• Document, maintain and improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Collaborate with technology, operations and finance teams to address findings from testing and ongoing operations.
• Build and maintain SOPs, process documentation and tools to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce defects and improve process performance.
• Track project deliverables, manage timelines, escalate risks and report progress to leadership.
• Support GRC compliance activities and participate in risk control assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of transactional accounting experience, including month‑end close, sub‑ledger management, balance‑sheet reconciliation and reporting.
• Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience supporting planning, tracking and coordination of financial or accounting system implementation projects.
• Proven experience reviewing and validating accounting records, accounts and configurations before project launch.
• Hands‑on involvement in UAT execution, test‑case coordination, result documentation and discrepancy identification.
• Proficient in Excel for financial modeling, data analysis and reporting.
• English proficiency at B2 level (written and verbal).
