Search Engine Optimization Team Lead

About the role

Lead the SEO strategy for North American markets, owning the organic search roadmap, driving technical improvements, content optimisation and backlink acquisition to boost visibility and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own 90‑day, 6‑month and 12‑month organic search roadmaps, including keyword strategy.
• Track rankings, organic traffic and visibility using Google Search Console, GA4 and competitive tools, reporting performance to stakeholders.
• Audit technical SEO weaknesses, prioritise fixes and lead delivery with development teams (crawl efficiency, indexation, site architecture, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals).
• Define SEO guidelines for new templates and features to prevent recurring issues.
• Own SEO for templated page types (industry, GEO‑specific, promotional landing pages).
• Set priority content areas, develop keyword architecture and direct the in‑house SEO team on on‑page execution.
• Develop and manage backlink strategy, including acquisition targets, anchor‑text distribution and disavow decisions.
• Audit backlink profile for risk and take corrective actions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years leading strategy for large, mixed‑type sites.
• Hands‑on technical SEO expertise (crawl/indexation, log‑file analysis, JavaScript rendering, site architecture, page performance).
• Proven record of organic growth tied to commercial outcomes.
• Practical link‑building experience, including outreach, anchor‑text strategy and backlink audits.
• Ability to direct an in‑house team on on‑page best practices and evaluate results.
