R&D Manager – Sustaining Endoscopy Products

About the role

Join Boston Scientific’s Endoscopy Sustaining R&D team and lead a group of engineers responsible for protecting product quality, compliance and business continuity of commercial endoscopy devices. The manager will guide the team in prioritising the project portfolio, making day‑to‑day technical and business decisions, and hiring and developing top talent at the Coyol manufacturing site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist functional deliverables and ensure technical excellence for sustaining R&D.
• Provide guidance and approval on technical strategies and approaches.
• Identify opportunities for Value Improvement Projects and Complaint Reduction.
• Guide, train and motivate staff, support career development and recruit high‑quality engineers.
• Develop and adhere to budgets, tools and systems for the department.
• Determine appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources.
• Collaborate with project managers to align priorities and allocate resources.
• Assign project staff, schedule work to meet R&D deliverables and completion dates.
• Maintain and enhance cross‑functional relationships and resolve technical issues.

• Proven ability to lead and build trust with direct reports.
• Strong leadership and cross‑functional decision‑making skills.
• Experience managing R&D teams, budgets and talent development.
• Highly motivated, collaborative and results‑oriented.
