Principal Agentic Engineer – Backend

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Agentic Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance, secure backend systems. You will work with cutting‑edge AI technologies and cloud‑native patterns to turn ambitious CX visions into commercial reality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and modern cloud‑native architectures.
• Apply spec‑driven development practices to translate product and UX backlog into detailed technical specifications.
• Coordinate coding‑agent teams to implement requirements and deliver RESTful APIs for web, mobile, and third‑party integrations.
• Architect AI‑powered solutions, including vector stores, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines, and integrations with LLMs such as Gemini, Claude, and GPT‑4/5.
• Build and maintain systems on Google Cloud Platform, leveraging Vertex AI, Google Gen AI APIs, and Agent Development Kits.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and debuggability of production services.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Python 3 for backend development.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with spec‑driven development and AI coding agents (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code).
• Expertise in prompt engineering and working with large language models (Gemini, Claude, GPT‑4/5).
• Experience building vector stores and RAG architectures.
• Familiarity with Agent Development Kits, especially Google ADK.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, and Google Gen AI services.
