Ops Training Specialist II

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Ops Training Specialist II to design, deliver, and evaluate learning solutions that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. The role partners with local managers, site leadership, and the global Learning & Development team to implement a comprehensive training strategy for the Costa Rica site.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local people managers, site leadership, and global L&D to define and execute the GBS Costa Rica Learning and Development plan.
• Manage the full learning lifecycle (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, administration) for onboarding, professional, process, leadership, competency, and culture programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate team‑building and development sessions.
• Develop, train, and support a local internal trainer network, serving as the primary point of contact.
• Maintain the training calendar and catalogue, generate reports, and track completion and attendance.
• Ensure audit readiness for the L&D function and support HR during audits.
• Measure training effectiveness using clear metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist the global L&D Manager in applying local and regional policies and act as the ambassador for corporate learning programs.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 + years experience in training or development, preferably within shared‑services environments.
• Relevant academic background in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or related fields.
