Manufacturing Engineering Technician

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, cost‑reduction and quality‑improvement initiatives. Working closely with machinists, operators and Continuous Improvement Engineering, the role ensures production runs efficiently while meeting tolerance and scrap targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist machinists and operators with set‑ups on vertical/horizontal mills, CNC lathes, EDM machines, Citizen and Swiss “R” machines.
• Optimize set‑up recipes to achieve specified tolerances with minimal scrap and cycle time.
• Lead or participate in continuous‑improvement projects using Six Sigma DMAIC, DOE, Lean and SPC methodologies.
• Develop new tooling and apply SMED techniques to reduce change‑over times.
• Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide technical training to shop floor staff.
• Support transfer, validation, CAPA investigations and preventive‑maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with safety representatives to assess and mitigate machine‑related risks.

Required profile

• Technical background in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Experience supporting CNC machining environments.
• Ability to interpret data and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to work with a positive attitude.
