LATAM Occupational Health Lead

About the role

The LATAM Occupational Health Lead will drive occupational health strategy, programs and services for DePuy Synthes in Costa Rica while providing regional oversight across Latin America. This position ensures employee health, safety and well‑being through compliant, high‑quality practices aligned with global standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and implement the LATAM occupational health strategy, programs and services in alignment with global standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Oversee occupational health vendor and healthcare provider relationships and contracts, ensuring high‑quality, consistent and cost‑effective service delivery.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance on occupational health and well‑being programs, policies and practices.
• Partner with EHS, facilities, HR and business leaders to identify, assess and mitigate workplace health risks.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health legislation, medical surveillance, psychosocial risk assessments, reporting and documentation across the region.
• Support injury and illness management, return‑to‑work and workplace accommodation programs.
• Analyze occupational health data and trends to inform prevention strategies and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to regional and global initiatives related to employee health, well‑being and prevention.
• Serve on local and regional crisis management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Health, Public Health or a related field.
• Professional qualification or additional training in Occupational Health or Public Health (preferred).
• Relevant experience in occupational health, health services or related discipline.

Required skills

• Knowledge of occupational health legislation and medical surveillance requirements.
• Experience managing vendor and healthcare provider contracts.
• Ability to analyze health data and develop prevention strategies.
