Junior Retail Architect

About the role

Gensler is seeking a Junior Retail Architect to support the design and rollout of retail projects. You will blend creativity with technical expertise while collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants.
• Manage client relationships, team communication, and on‑site observations.
• Resolve complex design and technical issues and ensure code compliance.
• Process submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests during construction.
• Interface with building officials throughout permitting and construction phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• 3+ years of architectural experience, including at least 1 year focused on retail projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and emotional intelligence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Understanding of building codes, standards, and construction methods.
• Experience creating technical documents and construction specifications.
