Design Technology Specialist - Senior

About the role

As a Senior Studio Architect on Gensler’s LAC Design Technology team, you will bridge design ambition with technical execution across Latin America and the Caribbean. Reporting to the Regional Design Technology Director and Studio Director, you will lead BIM and VDC workflows for flagship regional projects while shaping the long‑term digital design strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination for architecture, structure, MEP and civil disciplines, running clash detection and managing issue tracking using tools such as Navisworks, Revizto or Forma Model Coordination.
• Own end‑to‑end VDC workflows, including model federation, 4D scheduling, constructability reviews and direct coordination with contractors in design‑build delivery environments.
• Develop and enforce BIM Execution Plans and information delivery plans aligned with ISO 19650, manage the Master Information Delivery Plan and govern the Common Data Environment.
• Integrate Design Technology tools (Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, reality capture, computational design and AI‑assisted workflows) into project teams and maintain interoperability pipelines.
• Mentor regional BIM leads, oversee BIM support staff and contribute to talent development within Gensler LAC.
• Support pursuit and pitch teams by articulating Gensler’s digital capabilities in both Spanish and English.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Fluent in Spanish and professional working English.
• Minimum five years of experience in BIM/VDC roles with senior‑level responsibility, preferably on industrial, healthcare or large‑scale mixed‑use projects.
• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM on complex design‑build projects across the LATAM region.

Required skills

• Autodesk Revit (architectural production).
• Navisworks and/or Revizto for clash detection and coordination.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 or ProjectWise as a Common Data Environment.
• Rhino and Grasshopper, Dynamo, reality capture tools, computational design and AI‑assisted workflows.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and international BIM standards.
