Intermediate Drupal Developer (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Drupal Developer to join our agency on a contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a full‑time position. You will play a hands‑on role in architecting, building, and maintaining Drupal‑based web solutions for multiple clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy custom Drupal modules and themes.
• Configure and manage Drupal sites, including configuration management and deployment workflows.
• Integrate third‑party services via RESTful APIs and ensure seamless data exchange.
• Collaborate with account, creative, UX, and project‑management teams, as well as client IT and external vendors.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices.
• Support ongoing enhancements, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across client properties.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and analytical with a solid grasp of the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask across several projects simultaneously.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable interacting with client IT teams and recommending technical solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.

Required skills

• Drupal 9/10 site building and custom development.
• PHP and Drupal API proficiency.
• Theming with Twig, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
• Experience with Composer, Git, MySQL, Apache/Nginx.
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility, SEO best practices, and Drupal configuration management.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM).
• Familiarity with Acquia, Pantheon, multi‑site environments, Varnish, Redis, and headless Drupal architectures.
