Instructional Designer – Certification Exams

About the role

Cornerstone is seeking an Instructional Designer to own the end‑to‑end development of certification exams for Implementation and Integration Consultants. The role will lead job task analyses, build item banks, set cut scores, and produce validity evidence, working in a hybrid setting in Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Lead job task analyses with subject‑matter experts to define knowledge, skills and abilities for each credential.
• Design and develop multiple‑choice, scenario‑based and performance‑based assessment items aligned to blueprints.
• Build and maintain item banks ensuring depth for secure delivery and item rotation.
• Set defensible cut scores using Modified Angoff and document validity and reliability evidence.
• Conduct item analysis after each exam, retiring or revising underperforming items.
• Apply AI tools to draft items, check blueprint alignment and automate routine documentation, with human review of every item.

Required profile

• Experience in instructional design focused on assessment or certification programs.
• Familiarity with exam item development, item banking, blueprint alignment and cut‑score methodologies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate across product, certification and SME teams.
• Experience conducting formal job task analyses and translating outcomes into exam blueprints.
