Information Security Engineer

About the role

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for protecting the organization’s information assets by analysing security risks, implementing controls, and collaborating with cross‑functional IT teams. The role ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data while staying current with evolving threats and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse security events, system access and vulnerabilities across networks and systems to detect and respond to threats promptly.
• Configure, manage and optimise security tools such as firewalls, antivirus solutions and IDS/IPS.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans and support risk‑evaluation processes, recommending remediation actions.
• Support detection, investigation and response to security incidents, including root‑cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Develop, implement and enforce information security policies, standards and procedures aligned with regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to strengthen the security posture and promote security awareness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
• 3+ years of IT and/or cybersecurity experience, including at least 2 years working directly with users.
• Advanced English proficiency is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of information security principles and practices.
• Familiarity with network and host‑based security applications and tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps Associate or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
