Global Financial Controls Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Global Financial Controls Lead to oversee Records Management governance within the Finance Controller organization. The role partners with Controllers and the Data Retention and Information Management (DRIM) team to design, implement, and maintain robust controls that ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight in the execution of Records Management requirements in line with policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assist in reviewing Controllers’ Records Management processes and key controls to ensure effective operating standards.
• Guide Controllers on proper execution of Records Management controls and help establish an enhanced governance process.
• Deliver knowledge‑sharing sessions to Controllers’ Records Management staff.
• Support remediation of gaps, including record identification, ownership assignment, retention, and secure disposition.
• Monitor incoming requests from the DRIM team and coordinate with Controllers to execute those requests.
• Liaise between Controllers and DRIM to clarify requirements and address concerns.
• Coordinate updates on open initiatives and prepare metrics and reports for senior stakeholders.
• Assess the effectiveness of existing controls, identify improvement areas, and implement necessary changes.
• Execute standard review, challenge procedures, guidelines, and compliance checklists as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or related control functions within the financial services industry.
• Understanding of Citi’s Privacy and Responsible Information Management policies, standards, and procedures.
• Proven ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and develop effective controls.
• Demonstrated experience in control‑related functions in the financial industry.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
• Sense of accountability and ownership of control outcomes.
