Financial Risk Manager – Vendor Investigations & Transaction Accuracy

About the role

Amazon is looking for a data‑driven Financial Risk Manager to join the Financial Waste team within Accounts Payable. The role focuses on preventing, detecting, and investigating erroneous vendor payments by analysing large volumes of transactional data and driving continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Review payment data from multiple invoicing, payment and procurement systems to identify erroneous payments.
• Execute audits, deep‑dives and special projects, communicating findings and recommendations to management.
• Maintain productivity targets and support other Finance Operations teams as needed.
• Coordinate with process owners to conduct walk‑throughs, quality reviews and resolve complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies on invoice entry and transaction processing.

Required profile

• 4+ years of fraud/risk investigations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fraud/risk investigations.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented and communication skills.
• Experience working across cross‑functional teams and at all organizational levels.
• 1+ years of experience with Excel and data‑visualisation tools.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivot).
• Tableau or similar data‑visualisation tools.
• SQL for data manipulation.
• Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques.
• Knowledge of procurement and source‑to‑pay processes.
